AFAIK most of the commercial S models are ABS - both AM and SHS.

In the U.S. Plastruct sells a liquid bonding agent for their ABS structural
shapes called Plastic Weld, which should work on the AM shells and also to
attach styrene to the ABS (although it is a bit strong for normal styrene work).

Super glue in various forms is another option. I think the models assembled in
China are mostly fastened with a form of super glue.

Hi Don,
I think yes - all bodies are made of ABS ( like MTH's in 0 gauge too )
MMA is the chemical short form of Methyl Meethacrylat. I am using here
in Germany a glue called UHU plus acrylat or Pattex Stabilit express.
But I think they are not available in the US. Have a look here :
http://www.devcon.com/products/products.cfm?familyid=182
which is a similar product.
