Peter:

I use Decoder Pro with the following equipment:

Digitrax Chief (DCS100)
LocoBuffer II
Soundtraxx PTB100

I was able to program Lenz, NCE, TCS & Soundtraxx decoders with my
command station, but I wanted consistent read back capability -
especially for reading back Tsunami decoder CVs to fine tune sound
performance. So after researching the matter, I bought the PTB100. I
have yet to encounter a decoder that I cannot read back or program.

I have read that some folks were unable to program some sound decoders
without a programing booster, but that was not my experience. I was
able to program decoders, but I could not always read back the same.

You are going to love Decoder Pro for programing your decoders. In my
opinion, it is essential tool for getting optimal performance from
your DCC equipped locos. It takes all the mystery out of programming
decoders and best of all - the program is FREE!

If you have any questions about the hardware or how to use the
software, please feel free to contact me offline.
