Stan & All,

I feel you pain. But your request isn't going far enough. We need the
same upgraded floor for the AM 40' car. Back when I had more time I
completely rebuilt 6 of the early AM boxs--worked my heart out on them.
As many of you know the floor was actually made backward! I have
another 6 cars or so, half completed where I either was going to use the
BTS or Grandt brake systems and all the piping/rods to make those guys
look good. Then my priorities changed and during the last few years I
have actually sold off a couple of those cars (I hope those who have
them now appreciate all the work). I would have thought by now that AM
would have made enough money on those molds to correct the mistake and
make something better and correct.

I remember Larry Jackman saying that doing a flat mold would be
relatively cheap for injection molding. So if one were to make the
floor in one shot and the ribs in the next, I would hope that it would
be profitable for somebody to get into because there must be thousands
of the 40 ft cars all running around with backward break gear.

Stan, is the AM railbox cars' underbody correct in that manner? I have
a couple but have never done any close examination in that respect.
