Hello Earl, When the only NW-2 that was available was the C&O, I repainted one. I would not recommend it as the paint is tough to remove and it also leaves a shadow that has to be sanded smooth. The alternative is to get a black undec for your purposes. I bought new windows from SHS to replace the ones I had to remove, because it's difficult to save them, but others have different methods.
If you'd like a photo, let me know and I'll send it to you off list. Meanwhile I must contemplate how easy it is to remove the windows and other details that would be involved in removing paint and decorating them myself, although I have a backlog of painting and decaling projects. I would welcome info from anyone who has already done this with an SHS switcher. - Earl Henry, Nashville ======================== In a message dated 1/8/2009 3:32:04 A.M.
