Earl:
Disassembly of any new state of the art locomotive and the word "easy" do
not mesh together.
I have disassembled an SHS SW and have accomplished it without damage to the
windows, but there WERE casualities, thus had to order small parts here and
there. I seem to recall breaking the little tabs off the headlight
enclosure(s)?
IF you cannot order/find an undec, then would suggest you purchase the
plainest, must drab livery imaginable (either the NYC or PRR should do
nicely? <g>)... and using fine sandpaper, sand the lettering/numbering off,
as well as lightly sanding the unobstructed surfaces (cab roof/sides/etc)
for additional "tooth". You should then be able to mask off the windows,
number boards, headlights, et al, for painting. Not easy either... but
better than broken parts?
