But Ed; You should know that real PA's did not have powered central axles (the trucks are A-1A , not C). So while the axle is missing from your unit, it shouldn't be powered (because AC Gilbert got everything 100% right...).

Since I am a serious and authentic AF collector, I would not want to substitute an OMNICON scale conversion kit since that would ruin the collector value of my prized loco. But obviously the Gilbert factory shipped out one defective unit (mine) since it has only four wheels per truck. I am sure your experienced group can whip out a fix for this very quickly and so please try and keep the cost under $9.95 (plus shipping) so that my wife will not find out.
