Bill, While I am not able to attend I have done some serious time in Duluth and can assure you that they are in fact civilized. Even in the worst weather you can easily maneuver around the core downtown areas without ever having to see the fresh air using the skywalks connecting the buildings on the 2nd floor levels. Rarely does the snow actually completely cover the skywalks ;-) .
The boardwalk along Lake Superior is (was, been a few years) very pleasant unless the breakers are freezing over it. Usually not until at least August or September. Really wish I could be there, I really enjoyed my times there before but alas finances don't allow it this year. Carey Carey Probst Member, M.I.T.
