Hi All,

No one so far has addressed Rance and Bente's query, perhaps because there is
no
easy answer. However I would like to point to the possibility of SHS S-TRAX. It
is the only one available with Code 125 rail and is very attractive with
simulated ballasted road bed, but of course only #3 Turnouts are offered at
present. Don promises #5 turnouts in the future so perhaps when they appear,
this will satisfy Rance and Bente's needs. #5 is of course not as good as a #6
would be, but at least would be a good compromise between space and
compatibility with scale needs. AC vs DC is a personal preference, I suppose,
but AC is a HiRail demesne and perhaps not within this forum. DC vs DCC is also
a personal choice but DCC has so much flexability and potential that I
believeit
has the the future, but not exclusively. DC will always be simpler in practise
for smaller layouts at least , in my opinion. You just have to get out there
and
see what others are doing and then decide.

Subject: {S-Scale List} Re: {S Lists} Is there one...??

Hi all:
I would also like to ask for the same thing, but with approximately code
.125 rail and with the motor or hand throw already attached. I think AM
has some brass type that are RTR, but that is about code .149 which is a
little high for what I want. Please steer me towards a RTR (either
electrically operated or with installed throw rods). I need somewhere
between 3-5 pairs of RTR #6, code .125 (or slightly larger - up to about
code .133). Do they exist? (Do they also take scale and high rail
wheels?) I know Tom Stoltz will make them in almost any size rail, but
I would also like to have them so that they 'electrify' the frogs and
points when thrown. Oh, one other thing, I am still in the 'dark ages'
using ac rather than dc or dcc. Well, one can't have everything!
Thanks in advance
