All, In an instance of accidental luck that happens perhaps a few times in life, I was contacted about assisting a company in breaking into the S Scale market. I can do that. By this time tomorrow I will have new never been seen in S prototypes of a variety of items. I will be putting them together, possibly painting them, and waving them in front of you all in an effort to get you to instantly reach for your wallets.
The following items exist. They WILL be here in my hands tomorrow. First up are a (generic I think) flat car. It is designed for lift off steel coil covers that will be available separately. Next we up have a CNJ diesel box cab shell. There is currently no drive for it but that has been investigated. If interest warrants it, a drive will be further investigated and possibly developed. These will be BASIC kits from styrene - very easy to glue together. The immediate goal is to make the freelance modeler happy. Trucks, couplers, grab irons and most common detail parts will NOT be included with the kits - ever. It will be up to the buyer to build it up to the desired detail level. You might consider them to be a "core kit" but the price will reflect it's basic components as well. Prices will follow once they get put together and shown around a bit. There are a few other items I will be getting tomorrow as well. I thought I would just let you all stew in your imagination for a few days. What happens beyond the first times remains to be seen. There will be more for sure if these sell to a reasonable level. I am not going to be involved in taking orders. I am just the guy that gets to play with the stuff first and make suggestions of what could be made. I will say that what this person considers to be "mass production" should be able to be satisfied pretty easily even in the fickle fractured "cant get 2 people to agree on anything" world of S Scale. The possibilities are pretty interesting. The current plan is to do a meet n greet at the CJSS Get Together on October 1st.
