Yes, there was an MDC version in HO.

I agree they would look good with either a pantograph or trolley pole. I could 
also see two bodies spliced on an AM GG1 drive to make a boxcab 4-6-6-4  for 
New Haven, NYC, Milw or GN (all would be "stand-ins"). How about a body on half 
a GG1 drive as a 4-6-4, 2-6-2 or 0-6-0 electric?
