Hi Bill, It's possible to make a pretty decent car from cardboard sides. I
put a couple of photos in my "daves stuff" photo album in the photos section of
recent models I built with photo printed sides. I just printed them on my
printer on photo paper then glued them to thicker cardboard then to a basic
body made from styrene. Details were formed from brass wire and stryrene strips
etc.
These models are TT scale but it would have been a lot easier to build them
in S scale and use some of the nice SHS sprue details instead of hand building
everything.
The neat thing about photo print sides is they are pre lettered, weathered
and tagged realistically so the finish work is reduced....Regards, Dave Branum
