Ahhh, GST, the old days...
Ontario and several other provinces now have the HST (harmonized).
This means that instead of paying provincial sales tax (varies with
province) and then federal sales tax (aka GST - about 8% initially), we now
pay one 'tax' of about 13%.
The approx 8% I was paying at Tinley Park was nothing to what I pay every
day.
Of course, with the US-CDN exchange rate right now about par, my purchases
at US train shows is 'cheaper' than it was just a few years ago.
