Following the thread on downsized layouts, I posted a drawing of a 2'x 12'
switching layout that I expect to build this year. It is designed to be built
in two easily transportable modules. I've never had much interest in running
trains, even when I was a kid, but I like to build models. The main purpose of
this layout is to display my building and rolling stock models and provide a
venue for photographing them. It also offers some interesting switching
challenges to play with. My inspiration is New Hampshire's Suncook Valley
Railroad and the setting is a small New England city in the 1938-41 period.
