Hi Rhett; The car would be a bit of work to scratch build, especially the ends and roof. The sides could be built of styrene strip (if the car is in good repair) or or wood if it is one of the beat up cars shown on the web site. I'd use a combination of styrene strips to build up the metal framing. Tichy or Archer rivets would provide the bolt heads on the framing.
The ends could be built up using an existing dreadnought end from an AF boxcar, PRS boxcar, or Stewart/Ye Old Huff-in-Puff. The inverse end is not really reversed like the the inward ribbed or Hutchins ends, but has the ribs on the same plane as the edges of the panel, with the areas between the ribs recessed. You would probably need two ends to make one, then maybe make castings. For decals, Bob McCarthy (Supply Car LLC) works with a guy who can do them from prototype photos and is reasonably priced.
