I absolutely stand behind Dick Karnes' appeal to support the "1:64MG." When
Bob took the magazine over I corresponded with him and told him how much the
previous owner owed me for unfulfilled editions. Bob credited me for all of the
missing issues. Once that amount had eroded, I happily sent a check to Bob to
bridge my subscription. So, if the previous owner owed you money or magazines,
and you failed to act, don't blame Bob. Blame yourself. Caveat emptor.

While Dick is a more prolific writer than I, I try to spread my
construction articles and product reviews among all three S magazines. Granted,
there is some advantage to doing product reviews for the "SG" because you get
to keep, sell or donate what you've built. I have, however, purchased various
kits myself and sent review articles to both "1:64MG" and the "Dispatch."
Without doing my homework, I'd venture you'd be hard pressed to pick up any
issue of the 2009 magazines and not find an article from me. Years before 2009,
a bit fewer. Personal circumstances in 2010, and continuing to the present,
have pretty well shut me down though I am currently dragging my heels on an
"SG" product review and have a Bar Mills kit-bash project in its final state
that will be submitted to the "1:64MG". Dick, his ever present side-kick Lee
Johnson and ersatz cousin Alan Evans are featured as part of the kit-bash.

Bob's magazine has grown and improved over time. Improvement could be more
geometric if some of the members of this list would take the time and effort to
document some of the methods, tricks and serendipitous revelations that all of
us have hit upon once in a while. Bob's publication requirements, along with
Don's and Jeff's, are not that hard to meet. All that is needed is a fairly
well written article and some reasonable digital photos on a CD. The publishers
do any re-writing required, sometimes to my aggravation. Don does have some
exacting methods for his bolded headings that precede each article but they're
easy to mimic.

We must support all three magazines. They are important to us and we to
them. What other scale has its own three exclusive magazines? Subscribe.

So, send something to Bob to publish in his/our magazine; he pays. And, as
I always conclude my articles, "Build something; it's good for your soul."
