My Parents brought a AF set in 1958.

It had the Hudson and 7 cars.   Retail price 79.95.

Allot of money in 1958 as my parents where not wealthy at all.

Min. wage 1958  1 dollar a hour.  Before taxes taken out.

When were quality AF trains cheaper than Lionel? I think one of the 
problems that AC Gilbert had was that there trains were not cheaper, 
but more expensive.
