This year's Great Lakes Region Railroad Modelers Symposium has been moved from South Bend to the NYC Museum in Elkhart, IN, right at the throat of the Elkhart yards. It will run 4/15-4/16.
The registration form is at <http://sjvrr.webs.com/2011GLMRSreg.pdf> I don't have the web site with all the other information handy but will post it later on. The hands-on clinics have been a hit in previous years. You can also step outside the museum and watch trains pass by about 20' away. Up to 90 trains go through a day per the museum curator on the former Lake Shore & Michigan Southern (now NS) line. The Amtrak depot is right across the tracks as well. As with most (all?) RPM meets, models are welcome, whether or not they are finished. People seem more interested in the work-in-process models.
