The AM domes are only slightly short in height.  The bigger problem is that 
they are too narrow.  They should actually extend out flush to the edge of the 
car.  As Lee Johnson taught me, "close enough for S scale", unless someone 
wants to spend a bunch of money on new castings.  I'd love for them to be 
correct, but then a lot of folks like the AM smooth side cars as is...which 
only works if you are a NP/GN fan.  Even then you have to settle for "squashed" 
windows and 3/4 skirting...NOT prototypical even on those prototype cars.

Actually, the AM BUDD dome cars are of a unique type built for both the NP and 
GN.  Like everything else, there is a dome car website with great data.  BUDD 
actually built two sizes of domes, from what I can see on the specs listed on 
this site.  The PS domes were altogether different in size and design.
