About a half million years ago (it seems) Walt Daynlik gave me a test shot of the ACF hopper for me to photograph. You might remember that Walt had arranged for the first group of those cars as an exclusive for his company.
As sometimes happens you finish an assignment and if the product really isn't worth the cost and hassle of shipping it back, it gets put in never-never land for awhile. Well, I ended up building many of those cars, many that were used in PRS ads (if I build them, I keeps them!). Over the years I acquired extra parts and I came across that body casting. I had some spare time so I started adding those various colored part to that body. After all these years, I've probably finished about half the model. I'm waiting for more extra parts because the kits don't contain any extras-especially those delicate ladders. It reminds me of the Johnny Cash song where he steals a car part every day from the factory to build his own car! If somebody's interested, I think I have a few unbuilt kits that I could trade for an equal number of the CD hoppers from AM.
