THANK YOU DON!!! Don, on behalf of the our very eclectic bunch of scalers, highrailers and collectors, thank you for taking the time to post your pictures of the layout.
For those of us that have spent countless hours building the layout over ten years and towing it to shows, we are very proud of our efforts to tell folks that S is alive and out there for all facets of the hobby. For me and the hardy bunch that braved the 30,000 plus (the show's unofficial guesstimate) attendees it was very rewarding to see the smiling and appreciative faces of all ages visiting our layout. And yes, we were the ONLY S layout. And yes, I too personally heard the comments that our layout was the most detailed and realistic looking. With only eight people maximum to operate and make sure folks looked with their eyes and not their hands, it was never a slow moment. I am still catching up on the digests after three very busy days setting up, manning, tearing down and going home; and after following all the posts, I am so happy that your pictures more than words explain why we do what we do. May your wheels stay rolling and your details be true but PLEASE enjoy the wonderful hobby of model railroading in whatever way you wish. Regards from a scale/highrail/operator model railroad nut.
