Jace,
Thanks for the advice. I was afraid I'd break something if I kept pressing, but it sounds like that was the right approach. I have the paired shoes, and I did launch one. Thankfully the passenger car we were working in had carpet in a pattern that made it fairly easy to find the part. Too late tonight to try, but I should have time to work on them tomorrow. The trucks are the PRS National Type B-1 freight trucks. The pegs in the shoes were the same distance apart as the holes in the truck sideframe, but they wouldn't fit. Do the holes need to be reamed out or should the pegs be tapered? > > > ====================================================== > > Mark: > > They are PIA, but they are a press fit and once attached they stay on! > > I use the very thin nosed needle nosed pliers (my are Xuron brand) to "roll" them in place - there is a minimal amount of flex in the truck you can use to muscle them into place. > > I am looking forward to reading about how you "wowed" those HO heathens in your NMRA division minutes. <VBG> > > John Gibson > Rocklin, CA > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > Yahoo!
