I was working on a PRS AAR boxcar kit this evening, and was having problems
attaching the brake shoes to the supplied trucks. The trucks are the PRS
National Type B-1 freight trucks. The pegs in the shoes were the same distance
apart as the holes in the truck sideframe, but they wouldn't fit. Do the holes
need to be reamed out or should the pegs be tapered?

I brought this to a freight car kitbuilding session at the NMRA meet in
Elkhart, IN this evening. The S scale car was a hit, but no one could get the
brake shoes to attach. I suspect trying to taper the pegs would be the first
thing to try, and if that doesn't work, then to ream out the holes.
