Future is pretty high gloss stuff. Great for decals but I can't
imagine using it for ballast unless I was going to weather or further
color my ballast with an airbrush to tone it down.
If you do use Future, remember it's solvent is alcohol. It's designed
to be easily stripped from floors which means a little alcohol can
cause a whole lot of destruction. Be careful when you clean your rail.
