Someone on this e-list has commented that ballast that's glued with dilute
white
glue is difficult to remove once hardened. Not so. All one has to do is mist
the area to be removed with "wet water" (water with a few drops of liquid
detergent) and let it soak in. A second application an hour or so later may be
necessary. This process softens/dissolves the glue bond so all you have to do
is scoop up the old ballast.
