Somebody has to continue to promote this and be scorekeeper to get the
remaining orders that are required.

John, if you are unwilling to do this, then somebody else has to step up to
 the plate.

After reading the ton of emails about the SAL car, I am intrigued with the
project and hope it will be a big success for those of you who are skilled
builders. I think it is Tom Hawley who listed a number of logical steps
that one would want to do if they are serious about promoting this project.
Of course the discussion that has taken place during the last few days has
been great promotion. But don't quit promoting if you really want that
car as much as you say you do.

And I think its way past time to keep posting under the subject "FINAL
UPDATE". How about just "NEW SAL BOXCAR KIT" or something like that.

ADDENDUM :

Just so everyone will know... this will be the absolute LAST time I
promote this model. If it does not happen this time... it goes in the
TRASH...
not on the shelf... the TRASH!!!

At which time, I will take the money I planned to use to buy FIVE S kits
and devote that to the HO version of this box car (yes, I've upgraded my
reservations). Do the math, folks... that is $400!!! So as you can see, I am
still doing my part to make it happen.

Subject: UPDATE to my FINAL UPDATE

UPDATE :

According to Jim King, at the time I'm writing this e-mail, we are only
just BARELY over half way to making this model happen!

The reservation count we currently have :

         42 out of 80

So... in reality, this is not too bad considering today is the 16th, and
it was only THREE DAYS AGO that Jim posted that he would re-consider doing
the SAL box if, in TWO MONTHS time, he could get 80 reservations!

The way I see it is this... if we can get 42 reserves in three days, there
is no reason we cannot get 38 more in the next 57 days!

But it may all depend on ALL of us... not just me and Jim! If you want
one of these models, help us out by printing out my web page (below) and
showing it to your other S scale friend at your S scale clubs!!! Print out a
flyer (which I am now working on) and display it at any shows you may attend
in the next few weeks (if there are any)... or take some of the flyers to
your local hobby shop and ask if you can set some of them on their display
counter. Anything you do (except nothing) could help, and may well turn
out to be the deciding factor.
