I have what I call an "Orange Crate" in my collection of stuff. It measures 12" 
x 12" x 26". It has a divider in the middle. Printed on the side it says 
"Standard Railroad Container" I can take a picture of it if you want. I will be 
at the S Spree until Sunday.

    Does anyone know the dimensions of the wooden crates that fresh produce and
  fruit used to be shipped?  They look like 2' X 2' X 3', but that is only a
  guess.  Robin and I visited the Dole Plantation yesterday and I got copies of
  some vintage labels I think would be perfect detail for my soon to be 
completed
