Subject: {S-Scale List} Re: A shout out to New Zealand
Hey, it's great news to me, since I probably won't ever set foot in New
Zealand in this lifetime. I always thought I would like to visit there, more so
after reading John A.'s comments from his time there (John, did you ever read
"Battle Cry" by Leon Uris?)
Anyway, Gavin does some nice work, and I'm glad to see it. Keep it coming!

found out Gavin lived in an area We'd be driving through, I got in touch. When
I arrived, Gavin and two of his friends had set up a number of small portable
layouts, mostly Gn15, in his garage. Being an S-scaler I was most interested in
Gavin's Sn3 1/2 "Fernside" module depicting New Zealand prototypes. Gavin's
friend Michael Gee also had a fine display of scratch built S scale passenger
cars and locomotives, also in NZ 42 inch gauge. All the work they had out on
display was top notch. Gavin also had his garden railway up and running, and to
top it all off, full-size Kiwi Rail freight trains were running past on the
track just over his back fence.
