Rusty & Pieter,

It was never my intention to make the roofs or anything else as the last
word in rivet counting for Reading cars. I was told by another friend that
if I changed the roof on the SHS/AM CNJ Coach it would be a really close
Reading Coach. Good enough for me...

Thought 1

The PRSL was significantly more mixed in Reading and PRR, and in some cases
PRSL equipment than my previously deluded Slobbering Pennsy Freak self would
allow me to believe. I wanted some "good enough" cars to put more "R" in my
PRSL.

Thought 2

I had absolutely no interest in forming wood roof stock to look "Reading"
for one car let alone a dozen of them. Since I bought about 6 in progress
Reading passenger cars from John Hall, he came to my rescue and made the
master roof pattern. I spent about 2 months painting and wet sanding it
until it looked like smooth plastic and had them cast. Those that wanted the
roofs have them now. It is another S Scale Git Er Dun success story. Some
things CAN be easy.

Rusty, you could have asked me **before** you went all Dremel Chop Suey on
your car and roof. I would have sent you the photos I had.

I would definitely be interested in some of those trucks if you made them.
I am 1 visit away with a car 20 minutes from here to get started on making
the roof vents for this roof. I just need to get permission to climb on it
and start measuring.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
