Hi All;

First off, thanks to Dick Karnes for hosting the regular Yahoo group meeting at
the convention, and taking the time to compile the resulting comments for us.

There have been "rules" in effect for the group as long as I have been a
member. They are sent out to the new members when they are accepted for
membership, and are available to anyone in he "new_member" entry in the Files
area of the web site. Per the meeting request, we will send out a modified copy
to all members once a month. Bill and I have updated the text a bit. If you
have questions or concerns, please contact us directly.

We can make additional changes as required or if folks feel something is
seriously lacking in the current presentation. Also please give us some
feedback after a few months on how you feel about the regular reminder.

Bill and I will review the group "Mission Statement", AKA the front page on the
Group site, in the near future and see what changes should be made. I'll take
the opportunity to remind people that we do change the picture there
periodically, so you might find it interesting to go to the group via the web
site on occasion, even if you normally get messages via email and go directly
to the files or photos to view content there.

Below is a preview of the Monthly message:

Hello Fellow S Scale List Members,

This is a monthly reminder for the Yahoo S Scale Group. The rules are simple.

This list is ONLY for discussion of 1/64th scale model railroading and related
topics. Anything to do with American Flyer trains except within the context of
converting them for scale operation is not considered on-topic. For discussion
of American Flyer and other toy trains, go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/s-trains/

We request that you follow a few simple rules of courtesy to help keep the list
FUN for all members;

- Please sign your first and last name at all times so that we all know who you
are.

- Your mother probably told you not to discuss religion or politics in polite
company, that goes double for this list.

- Keep your notes "on-topic". NO computer virus warnings.

- NO profanity. It is not needed for discussing trains; it does not add value
or enjoyment to reading the list.

- NO flaming; if you are joking, please indicate by using <G> for "GRIN", or
use a smiley; 8<)

- When you REPLY, edit the previous message so that you re-send only what is
needed to provide context for your message.

- Use proper grammar and punctuation so that we can easily read your notes.

- The posting of items wanted or for sale is allowed at any time, not just on a
specific day of the month.

- Once an item for sale or wanted post is sent, please send all further
correspondence privately. Do NOT use the group email to complete the sale.

-Please change the subject line title if you are replying to a group message
and have changed the subject content. This will keep the group archives in
order if the subject title reflects the content as they are sorted and searched
by the post title.

- Be sure that YOU have updated anti-virus software running on YOUR computer.
- This group does not allow attachments such as photos to be distributed via
the group email. You must post attachments in the photos or files section.

- Have fun!

Thank You,
Bill Lane
