I note that there is a minty Overland GP38-2 for sale on eBay. The BIN is less
than four C notes--not much money by today's standards. These locomotives
commonly go for so little, which is why I thought that discussions awhile back
about the possiblity of a resin version made no sense: a new version in resin
would be in the same ballpark as brass.
They are nice models with finer detail and better running mechanisms than the
SD40s. But when they came out, they hung around on dealers' shelves forever.
Now that we have more modern rollling stock maybe the demand for them will
increase?
