Butch, You have misrepresented Bruce Heald’s position in his letter to “Model Railroad News”. Admittedly I came in to S scale from the AF side, but I thought Bruce made some very valid points.
One can have realistic model railroad operation using less than realistic trains (many do), just as one can run realistic scale models going “round and “round”, like many others. It’s a hobby. It’s supposed to be fun! Roger Nulton From: up148 Sent: Thursday, July 21, 2011 2:46 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: {S-Scale List} S Availablity was Admin: We are no longer "Adult". Dick Karnes stated the same information in his latest "S Curves" column. He interviewed Don T. who explained the Kader incident better than I ever heard it explained before. Nasty people they are. In the reader feedback section some AF clown took Dick to task for not being as supportive of AF as he is of S scale. Excuse me....I thought Dicks column was mostly geared towards scale operation not log loaders and talking stations. This fellow from VT (IIRC) considers Hi-Rail fitted SHS and AM equipment along with AC Gilbert equipment on AF track to be scale operation. When I see one of the embassadors of S scale taking the gas from a toy train running clown I see red. Yeah, I know they're all toys. I still might show my --- and respond if the magazine will print it. Damn I'm getting cranky in my old age. <G> Butch [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
