Spent an evening cutting out and chiseling a 10 x 22 inch section of
homasote. This was to replace the 2 switches leading into the staging yard
outside Appalachia. Were these switches the hardest to reach that needed
replacing? Oh, but of course.
Dean, the Southern Rwy.Black Mtn line, partner in crime, built 2 new switches
on a seperate piece of homasote that is now screwed not glued in place.
Of course, before putting in the new switches I had to tear out a 2 foot
section of finally finished scenery. As we chiseled away my wife poped her
head in the doorway and asked, "This what you call fun?" Ah, but when trains
run reliably it is fun.
