Hi All:
Have been tinkering with my S scale efforts. Would like to finish an engine
(which one??) prior to a Frisco(RR)-oriented meet come September 17th. I
intend to take the finished mystery project, and my finished Frisco #306
SW9, along for a "here's S scale" type visual.
ANYWAY... I wouldn't mind finishing up one of my Baldwin S-12 projects...
BUT... I've come to the conclusion I'm not completely satisfied with their
ultra low speed "switching" performance. (It's that "SHS Syndrome" again:
Everything is compared to SHS!) Could be a repower is in order. That so...
Have any of you repowered your AM Baldwin switchers? Did it help? With the
demise of Sagami, what is available?
My first thought was a big fat round can... biggest I can fit inside... and
bigger, heavier flywheels. BUT... WHAT is "out there" now? Cruising the
"now under new ownership" NWSL site yields some HO and other small scale
repower kits, but no listings of all sizes of motors available from them.
What say, troops? Can 'ya help this wayfaring stranger???
