Well rats. I can handle hackin' n' gougin' and putty n' paintin' in order to get what I want in S scale. I can even deal with the fact there ain't truly a variety of "plop n' play" switches (turnouts) available in S scale... can even accept the fact that my rolling stock choices will be limited... BUT...
...Never thought I'd have an issue with simple decals. Switchers for my own road, the KC&G, will need stripes and letters. Two sizes of stripes: The side sills will get (scale) 3" striping and the noses get (scale) 4". Looks like the hood sides will use lettering that measures an actual 1/8" to upsize and replicate its HO forerunner. This all used to be easy-peasy in HO scale. Read: Champ Decals. Not so now. Microscale has stripes in 1' increments, it seems. And their alphabets are a bit confusing in their variety, but I think I've deciphered their sizing. Here's a likely suspect for use: http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=90032&Category_Code=ALPHA&Product_Count=87 But I'm drawing a blank on stripes. I need a good supplier that has a decent variety of stripes in yellow (or Dulux Gold) and white. Do any of you have any suggestions? Last minute addendum: Just found that Herald King is still puttering along... hopefully I can find some stripes there that work... once I get home. Gotta' run.
