I just got another shipment of turnouts from Toms Turnouts. Not plastic, real
bass wood ties, rails are painted brown, points are powered, frog insulated,
but can also be powered. The geometry is super fine. Toms uses SHS track.
Ready for a tortoise or a ground throw take your pick. I think the #6 is his
best unit. Still the only turnout I know of that can support scale, hi-rail and
AF. I don't know how he does it, building each by hand in the cold tundra of
Maine. But the product is the envy of the industry.
