  Hi Roger, I'm not familiar with that area but if it's a nice secure 
neighborhood where a club could build a long term layout they could focus on 
attracting modelers interested in building something unique and connected to 
the rail history of that area. Lots of guys don't have room at home to build 
such a layout so might jump at the chance? A project like that could appeal to 
modelers of any scale and not just to present S scalers.Basing it on local 
railroad operations would attract more broad community support.  The key would 
be coming up with a plan that works best in S scale so S becomes attractive to 
serious modelers of any scale. Like all scales there's lots of things that can 
be done in S better than the other scales once the size is recognized as the
