A jewelers saw works great for many metal cutting tasks but it's hard to cut
installed frog gaps with one because the ties and roadbed get in the way. A
dremel is the easy way as it can plunge cut from above using a small disk. One
doesn't need an expensive dremel, a basic single speed or cheap knock off will
do just fine for small amounts of cutting, mine is about 30 years old and still
going strong. A dremel will cost about the same as one S scale freight car and
be a much more useful long term acquisition. Regards, DaveBranum
