Bob, I was a letter carrier with the USPS for 15 yrs. I can tell you this
much, magazines are 2nd class mail. Once they are distributed to the station
and to the individual carriers, they must go out that day. The only mail that
can be delayed is "junk mail" or bulk rate (although they frowned on that term,
the USPS preferred to call it revenue). As for magazines getting delayed at the
main distribution centers, I can't vouch for that. (and no, I didn't read any
of them during my lunch break! After all most of the interesting ones were
sleeved.)
