Although I have never been in any real part of the
retail/wholesale/manufacturing process (I know my limitations--
as the crusty old NCO who ran the Link trainer to screen candidates for flight
training said when I had an orientation
ride, "Chaplain, you're in the right AFSC"), I'd guess the smartest and most
experienced business people can't anticipate
demand consistently--too many variables. That is why almost every business has
year-end and inventory-reduction sales.
