All,

I know this issue has been discussed time and time again, but the S-scale PA
choices leave a lot to be desired. Both the AF and AM versions come way short
of the mark. After studying hundreds of PA photos, I have concluded that the
AF shell represents the best nose contour and cab shape while the AM version
has the correct roof contour and carbody side details. I've tried in vain to
hack and recontour the AM nose, but no matter how I tried it still didn't look
right. A friend of mine said, "too bad you can't attach the AF nose to the AM
body." Since I already hacked up the AM nose, I figured "why not?" So, I've
added a photo of the finished face replacement surgery to the photos section:

(If that doesn't work just log on to the site and click on new photos)

I still have quite a bit of body work to do, but I'm quite pleased with result
so far. I chose to use a Omnicon drive instead on the AM drive and chasis. My
plan is to grid off the cast on brake cylinders and use BTS passenger car brake
cylinders, which look pretty close to me.
