BUT, they were as close as a precision sledge hammer, swung with the "close 
 to correct" velocity could get them ( fact ).   EACH EMD nose was  hand 
hammered into shape.   I can tell you from the experience of  climbing onto 
the hood of an "F", they were made out of much  thicker metal  than GM used on 
Chevy's.
