There was an interesting "feel" to the old clip. (ca. 1981).

Along this line of thought: One of my all-time favorite 
"documentary/informational/promotional" railroad-related films was the BN's 
"Portrait Of A Railroad" from the early 70's.  It had an excellent "feel" to 
it, and was overall just a really good film for a train nut. It also contained, 
what I thought, was a very good original music score. I'm not a BN fan to speak 
of, but it is a good video.
