What John is going through at least mentally so far to get sound in his SW1 I guess is what we all have to decide. Of the 3 SHS switchers I have only 1 has sound and that was "factory" installed. For me it is REALLY good too. I am sure ALL of my locomotives will NOT have sound units. Very sure on that..
If I were having an open house and wanted to "sound off" I would just run the locos that have sound units. In the next month or 2 I will finally be running the new layout. I have stereo speakers at each end of the basement. I will probably listen to music more with the sound units turned off when I am by myself.
