The Dunsmuir, Calif. Western Auto sold AF when I was a kid, as did the 'L &
L Hardware Store (now known as Dunsmuir Hardware). The guys at L & L let me
look at their wholesale book in 1966, and I saw the pages where AF was
blanked out--my first knowledge that ACG was no more (news didn't travel
very fast in those days). When the new owner took over, he found some NOS
stuff in the back room and GAVE it to me! The Big Liqueur Store sold Lionel
and the Sprouse Ritz (sp?) sold Marx. Only the Hardware store remains in
business today--they have a neat website; www.dunsmuirhardware.com/
Back to scale discussions.
