Interesting idea. My only experience with AF is that I bought two gondola 
bodies for $1, but what if you built a loop of track that did what AF does 
best: fly around at great speed. All the rest of the track could be scale, 
where you did switching, realistic operations, whatever scale is best at. If 
you wanted to allow the scale stuff to wander onto the AF loop, you might only 
need a few closing frog turnouts, from which you could go to smaller rail and 
prototypical turnouts once off the "main."
