All; Instead of using the word, CHEAP let's use the word *INEXPENSIVE*. Where dollars may be better spent on rolling stock, track, etc. One using less expensive wood for layout framing for example...instaed of using 3/4" ply. You could use 3/8" thick ply instead. Remember, we aren't building the house to hold the layout. That part should already be complete...Hopefully.
