The main thing is to a good look at what you want and see if you can make it
from common materials instead of spending more to buy it.Often it's easier to
build it cheap than buy it expensive if you add in the time spent looking thru
suppliers, ordering, modifying it if it's not exactly what you want ,etc. For
instance brass wire is a lot cheaper than pre-formed grab irons and cut levers
and all it takes is a pair of pliers to shape it to the exact size you want.
Countless details can be made from cardboard, wood scraps, bits of plastic,
metal shapes and wire etc. I think I could build for years just using scrounged
materials and purchased glue and paint....DaveBranum
