Hi Mike... The real divide is between scale guys and American Flyer guys.
Totally different planets. Then there is a smaller divide between the
high-rail guys and the scale guys. The smallest divide of all is between the
modern guys and scale guys. The precise definition of "modern" remains elusive
to this day.

You will find lots of help from other S guys. Some of us even make parts for
others.

Gotta be honest, it isn't here and probably won't be for quite a while. If the
modernistas are looking for a project, perhaps this is something to be
undertaken as a group.

Yes, but how large is that market? Be careful.....

If you stir the pot enough, a sugar daddy sometimes steps up to the plate.

> I hope I haven't angered the S Scale gods,

Not sure we have any of those. This is the land of equality. As the book
title says, "We don't need no stinkin' S Gods!"

> I have a very strong opinion on most every topic about this hobby.

You are not alone there. Just be polite and nobody will bite you.

> I'm not going to give up on transitioning

Welcome back. If you can satisfy yourself regarding motive power, the rest of
it will be easy.

> I am however, going to make the transition very slowly.

Yeah, that's what Jace said too. Look at him now! He has more S scale than he
ever thought he would and he never even sold off his O scale stuff.

> I'm actually thinking about asking

Some S-guys like to preach to the S-choir. Others aim for the non-S folks.
Each to his own. There is no right or wrong.

Have fun.....Ed L.
