I have used brake fluid and alcohol on plastic models for years with no detramental effects. I have also used super clean(Draino) with varing success. Some paint like the stuff on AHM ore cars defy removal. Some cars from Austria are not easy to strip. I have used all three chemicals inorder to get the job done. I don't know about SHS cars etc. Paul
