John: I've put together lots of 808s. WHile they can be frustrating, most of the time the spring sits in the slot just fine. I've not done any lately but will try this week so I can give you fresh encouragement or remember how I did it. The lack of ready built buildings was one of the attractions about S for me. I enjoy the construction part and being able to modify the kits. cheers
